Thankful & Moving: Jay’s Camp November Update

Hey Camp Family!
Can you believe we’re already rolling into November? At Jay’s Camp we’ve had an incredible stretch — from fresh beginners finding their groove to seasoned dancers elevating their style — and none of it happens without you.
This month, we’re leaning into gratitude, community, and stepping forward together. Whether you’re stepping onto the floor for the first time, hitting private lessons, or representing at events, we want you feeling supported, seen, and energized.
Let’s take a moment to honour the journey — and then turn up the rhythm for what’s ahead. Keep your laces tied, your feet light, and your smile ready.

Bring the fire to your following. You’ll master clean spins, expressive styling, and musical flow that turns every pattern into performance. This is about taking the lead’s movement and making it unforgettable.

  • FOLLOWERS

Command the floor with confidence. We’ll fine-tune your frame, sharpen your timing, and teach you how to add signature style without losing control. From partner connection to show-stopping finishes, this is where your dancing becomes leadership in motion.

What’s Happening This Month

weekly group instruction

Greatness doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built—hour by hour, rep by rep, class by class.

Keep showing up. Keep growing. You’re not just learning steps. You’re becoming a dancer.

Style & Technique Tips of the Month

Leading

Rather than simply executing the step, invite your partner into the movement — think “I’m creating space for you” rather than “I’m doing the move.”

Following

Listen to the rhythm, anticipate the release, and own your part of the story — feel the music, don’t just react.

Expression

On counts 5-6 of a pattern, hold a micro-pause before your finish, it gives the movement room to breathe, and lets the next phrase land harder.

As we approach the season of Thanksgiving, we invite you to bring one extra rhythm of gratitude into every class. At Jay’s Camp we believe that dance isn’t just movement — it’s emotion, it’s connection, it’s celebration.
Here are three ways to practice gratitude on the floor this month:

Thank your partner (even if you’re rotating) after a combo: a simple “Good job!” or “Loved that timing!” keeps the energy positive.

Reflect on your progress: Look back at where you were 2 – 3 months ago. Celebrate the step you’ve taken, and use that as fuel for what’s next.

Share a move you struggled with: Be open about one thing you want to improve. Putting that out there invites growth — and gratitude for the opportunity.
